Film Review Planning
The image of the star ratings, is a hollywood convention used by film review companies as a tool to draw people in, if a film has 5 stars a reader is more inclined to read the review to see what was so good about it, and vice versa with reviews that have low ratings.
The image used is always a still from the film and usually includes the main actor/s and actress/es, as again this draws the reader in with the big names.
Film reviews will always include the release date of the film, and show all participating cinemas. This information will be particuarly as the main reason for reviews, are to make people want to watch the movie.

Release Date
The font used by all respected film review companies e.g Empire Magazine, all use very simple font. This is because they dont want the readers to be distracted and would just like them to take in what the review is trying to tell them.
Fact boxes are always a welcomed feature in reviews, it gives the reader an extra insight into either the directors or main actors/actresses life within their career.
Using the research on film reviews, this allowed us to create our own plan, which meant when it came to writing the real thing we needent worry about the layout nor structure of the review as we had previously planned it.
